This coating system provides a waterproof, chemical resistant coating for bund coating, concrete sealing, and sealing of secondary containments. It maintains the tank’s static stability by protecting the ring wall, for both steel and concrete parts. Adalastic® 2000 seals the cracks in the affected area. Short operation time due to the lack of construction work. The system is approved by the German Institute for Construction Technology (DIBt).

Surface Preparation:
Concrete/Bitumen (different options):
- Slightly blasting the surface using sandblasting or shot-blasting
- Dedusting with an industrial vacuum cleaner
- Cleaning the surface with high-pressure water jetting (>200 bar)
- Water removal with pump and water aspirator
Coating:
For each application, a dew point distance of 5°C must be observed.
Grounding:
a) Adaflex BG for dry mineral underground surface (concrete)
Adaflex BG is a 2 component (resin and curing agent) epoxy-based resin. The mixing ratio is 100:45 by weight. Adaflex BG is applied by roller with 300 g/m2. Dried film thickness is approx. 0,3 mm. The grounding is sanded with quartz sand (grain size 0,3-0,8 mm).
b) Adaflex FU for wet mineral underground surface (concrete)
Adaflex FU is a 2 component (resin and curing agent) epoxy-based resin. The mixing ratio is 2:1 by weight. Adaflex FU is applied by roller with 300 g/m2. Dried film thickness is approx. 0,3 mm. The grounding is sanded with quartz sand (grain size 0,3-0,8 mm).
c) Adaflex BG Spezial for bitumen underground surface (mastic asphalt)
Adaflex BG spezial is a 2 component (resin and curing agent) epoxy-based resin. The mixing ratio is 3:2 by weight. Adaflex BG Spezial is applied by roller with 300 g/m2. Dried film thickness is approx. 0,3 mm. The grounding is sanded with quartz sand (grain size 0,3-0,8 mm).
Main Structural Layer:
Adalastic 2000 is a 2 component (resin and curing agent) polyurethane-based resin. The mixing ratio is 1:1 by volume. The layer is applied with a spraying unit at a material temperature approx. 60°C. usage is approx. 2800 g/m2. Dried film thickness is approx. 2,2 mm.
Top Layer:
Adaflex 109 L is a 2 component (resin and curing agent) UV protective conductive polyurethane-based resin. The mixing ratio is 4:1 by weight. The top layer is applied with a roller with 300 g/m2. Dried film thickness is 0,1 mm.
Installation note:
The above information is based on tests by approved institutes (e.g. TÜV Süd Germany) and many years of experience. As the lining performance depends on correct installation we offer application courses for certified installers and installation supervisors and provide certificates which shall be renewed every 3 years.
